Execution of mechanical testing
The SOFAST Technologie test laboratory boasts all the equipment required to perform testing as laid down in the standards relating to fasteners: ISO 898-1, ISO 898-2 and EN 14399.
Tightening bench- The tightening bench performs the fitness for purpose tests by tensioning the bolt by turn-of-nut.
- The tightening bench is fitted with torque/tension cells (250 kN-600 Nm, 700 kN-3000 Nm...), elongation sensors and an angle encoder.
- During the fitness for purpose test torque, tension, angle and elongation are measured.
- The test results give rise to the torque capacity (k) and to calculate the installation torque for each batch of bolting.
- The impact testing machine performs the impact bending test which entails breaking a notched bar.
- This test measures the absorbed energy on breaking of the specimen.
- The test can be conducted on specimens conditioned at different temperatures as per specification.
- The hardness test consists of measuring the dimension of an indent left by an indenter under a determined load.
- The machine can perform Brinell, Vickers, and Rockwell tests.
- The tensile strength machine of a capacity of 1000 kN performs different types of tensile tests: - Simple tensile test - Wedge tensile test - Tensile test on specimen - Test load
